All plain-sailing for Thiess crewA flotilla of 106 sailing boats and a few diesel-powered vessels took to Sydney Harbour last Friday to help raise more than $300,000 for charity in the annual Property Industry Foundation Regatta. The overall winner of the Bob Ell Cup was the crew from Thiess on Wild Oats XI, which also won for the racing and maxi yachts division. Principal race sponsor Investec came third for the maxis on Loyal but won the division two prize on Zen. Crone Partners again won the best-dressed crew, while Grindley Construction took out line honours in the third division on Bullrush.Factory site green-lit for villageA $250 million urban-renewal project to replace the Sunbeam factory in Campsie has been approved by the NSW government and construction is expected to start this year. Developed by private group Parkview, Clemton Park Village (artist impression pictured) will feature a commercial and retail precinct, more than 600 apartments and a town square in a total of 5000 square metres of open space. Included in the village will be 80 senior living units, a childcare centre for 75 children, a medical centre, commercial offices and a gym. The NSW Minister for Planning, Tony Kelly, said the site would help accommodate urban renewal, including meeting the state's housing supply and aged-care needs.CBRE wins nods as best agencyCB Richard Ellis has been named the commercial agency of the year at the Real Estate Institute of Australia's National Awards for Excellence. CB Richard Ellis had three of the six nominations in the Commercial Agency category for its Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne operations. The firm's Brisbane office won the trophy, while CB Richard Ellis's NSW portfolio manager, Peter Apostolakos, was named commercial property manager of the year.
